Tom Mueller

Tom Mueller is a highly experienced crisis communications and training professional. He started his career as a newspaper reporter and then spent more than 30 years in the energy industry in press office and communication roles. He and his family have lived in Bolivia and Vietnam while working on major energy projects, and he has spent time in many other countries supporting new project development.

Tom has worked his share of major crisis events, including the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, where he served as PIO for bp in New Orleans. 

Tom now does private consulting and PIO coaching through his firm, Tom Mueller Communications, LLC. He also works as a training and executive coaching consultant with WPNT Communications, providing media training and executive communication training. Tom also writes a features blog. Marc Mullen

Marc Mullen has over 20 years of experience as a communication strategist. He provides subject matter expertise in a number of communication specializations, including crisis communication plan development, response and recovery communications, emergency notifications and communications, organizational reviews, and after action reports.

Marc has been actively involved in supporting multiple large-scale crisis events and drills, working directly with multiple agencies, oil and energy companies, and a wide variety of other clients in preparing for, or providing effective stakeholder communications in, significant incidents. He has direct experience in helping manage communications during natural disasters, environmental spills, shipping accidents, industrial accidents,  wildfires and many other types of events.
